Foster Homes Urgently Needed

There have been a large number of Bostons in danger recently, either at shelters or at risk from abusive owners. We desperately need more foster homes so we can continue to give them all a chance at a happy life in a forever home. If you can open up your heart to do this, please fill out an application here, and we will get back to you. Thanks so much!

Help Rocky

UPDATE:  Here's more on our story of Rocky after his surgery. You will be amazed at what your donations have accomplished!

Rocky is a beautiful three year old Boston Terrier who was brought to a municipal shelter.  He was found wandering on the street after having apparently been hit by a car on New Year's Eve.  The injuries to his leg were extensive, having shattered the elbow in multiple places, and it was feared that amputation would be the only solution. But here's where Rocky's luck changed.

After having been contacted by the shelter, NEBTR stepped in.  They paired with Dr. John Fedina of Caldwell, NJ, who worked hard to make sure that Rocky's leg would be saved.  It was a very delicate, complicated surgery, but Rocky got through it like a Champ.  He is now recuperating at his foster Mom Jen's home, and she is showering him with love and tending to his physical therapy.

Now NEBTR has to pay for his care, and we are asking anyone who can assist to help this sweet, loving boy so that he can run free again and regain the use of his leg.  Thank you so much!

Jerrilyn's Birthday Honor

Jerrilyn Walter is passionate about Boston Terriers.  She is a tireless volunteer for NEBTR, wearing many hats all with love for the breed.  She is also the Mom to world famous Vivienne, Boston and model extraordinaire.

So when Jerrilyn turned 40, what better than to celebrate and to benefit NEBTR at the same time.  She requested that in lieu of gifts, donations be sent to NEBTR.  Her friends honored her by contributing over $1500 to our organization.  Special thanks to Katherine Kerr, Sandra Lubicz, Stan Klasek, Dawn Palo, Nohemy Plascencia, Ashley Dolan, Leslie Gilbert, Denise Meekins, Robert Meekins, Brendan Barr, Scott Edwards, Mary Wright, Natalie Baxter, Thomas Pellegrino, and Jerrilyn's Mom, all of whom made birthday gifts in her honor.

And a great big thank you to Jerrilyn, for including NEBTR in her special day!

Mission Statement

Northeast Boston Rescue (NEBTR) is comprised of volunteers based in NY/NJ and PA and serves Boston Terriers in need within reach of our helping hands. Most dogs in foster care for placement are adolescent to adult dogs in need of re-homing in life for a multitude of reasons and will need caring hands to guide them as they transition into new homes. All of our rescue dogs are fostered and evaluated for a 2 week minimum to allow us to assess their personality and provide them with basic foundation skills - House/Crate training, basic manners - to ease their transition into new homes. It is our belief such work in foster care better prepares dogs for success and helps forms lasting bonds.
